SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR TEXAS YOUTH

With summer quickly approaching, youth across Texas are eager for their break from school.

For youth, staying active over the break is beneficial to their personal growth. Summer gives youth the chance to step away from their desk and discover new interests. Research shows that “through play, [children] can experiment, solve problems, think creatively, cooperate with others,” which, in turn, allows them to “gain a deeper knowledge about his/herself and the world” (Bento et al. 2017).

But with three months to fill, finding ideas to keep your youth engaged can be difficult. Lucky for you, TYAN can help! We have compiled a list of activities across the state that are available this summer. With activities focusing on art, nature, science, and more, these ideas are accessible for youth and mentors in every corner of Texas!
