STARTING OFF THE NEW YEAR RIGHT WITH YOUTH

2022 is here!! We hope you are feeling rested and revived for another great year. TYAN is here to help you and your youth kick off the new year right! The new year is the perfect time for youth to refresh themselves and jumpstart some positive new habits. Get together with your youth and start brainstorming about what they want to accomplish in the new year. Coming up with New Year’s resolutions can be overwhelming. We have included a resolutions sheet for you to complete with your youth! Below are some steps to help break it down and keep it simple!

  • Begin by just asking youth to write down one academic goal for themselves. This can be getting straight A’s for the semester or reading a new book every month.

  • Now have them think of a personal goal for themselves. For example, maybe they want to start a new sport or try out for a play at school.

  • Now, goals to better their physical health. The new year can spark motivation for a healthier lifestyle. This can be anything from taking up a new exercise routine to eating a more balanced diet.

  • A healthy mind equals a happy life. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Youth should jot down a couple of ways they plan to keep their mind at peace, whether it’s reading a book or going for a walk and listening to music.
