GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

Global Citizenship works to provide youth and their families an opportunity to gain a better understanding and appreciation of different cultures. It is a collaborative effort by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences.

Global Citizenship aspires to promote their program participants’ cultural competence, increase understanding of ones own culture and other cultures. Their goal is for their participants from different countries to build lasting friendships and have a sense of global citizenship. Youth leaders connect with program participants by engaging in monthly meetings, the Pen Pal program, and other virtual activities

“We can always learn things from youth and share our life experience with them. We like to build mentor-mentee relationships or friendships between us to inspire each other.”
